Dr. Desigar Moodley is a highly accomplished dental professional with over 30 years of experience. He holds multiple advanced degrees, including PhDs in Biomedical Sciences and Restorative Dentistry from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. His research has made significant contributions to the fields of bioactive materials, dental pulp stem cells, and dentine bonding agents. Dr. Moodley’s clinical expertise spans aesthetic dentistry, endodontics, and oral surgery. Synopsis / Description
Over the years, many types of paediatric crowns have been developed and advanced to aid the clinician in rehabilitating deciduous teeth. This lecture will discuss the various options that are available for full coverage restorations for the primary dentition. The advantages and disadvantages of each approach will be discussed. This lecture goes through the clinical procedures from stainless steel paediatric crowns to zirconia crowns to the latest hybrid-glass laser sintered crowns when restoring the deciduous tooth. A step-by-step procedure that provides a simplistic approach when restoring the deciduous tooth will be taught through the use of minimally invasive clinical procedures. Clinical cases illustrating procedures on how to restore highly carious deciduous teeth, genetic disorders and trauma cases restored with pediatric crowns will be shown. Paediatric Veneers will be introduced showing a simplistic approach to restoring anterior teeth for optimal aesthetics in the deciduous teeth.
